I’m going to do a photo Friday sort of post weekly. In the future, I’m going to use my own photos and they’ll likely be up on Flickr as well. This week is the exception to the rule however. What better way to start than by breaking the rules (as stringent as they are) on the first day.
This is a photo of my brother, Mark. I love him so much. He’s awesome. He has an awesome job. He has an awesome life. He really lives. Today is his birthday. He is 41. He doesn’t look it, does he? By the way, he’s the one holding the fish.
Speaking of the fish, that’s a 64 pound flat-head catfish. He caught that himself. In his words: “no, we did not noodle them. We use limb lines that we bait with sunfish that we have to catch in local ponds the night before, then we run the lines the next morning very early.”
And, yes, they eat them if they don’t release them.
Happy birthday, Mark. As I said, I love you very much and I am so proud of everything you are.

Is Mark the brother who lives somewhat near me? (Spring Hill, KS, maybe?)
Annie–Yep, he’s the one.
Happy Birthday, Mark!
And EW on the catfish. Just ew.
Finn–Do you not even like to eat it?
What a cool picture! Belated birthday wishes to you, Mark.
