You Can All Laugh Now

I saw over at Speck’s that she thinks grown ups who pick dumb costumes for Halloween are idiots. I love you, Speck, but I am one of those idiots. Am I excused because I work with children all day and they like to see their favorite doctors and nurses dressed up for Halloween? I hope so. Please don’t laugh at our choice of costumes for this Halloween. Okay, you can laugh. Just don’t make fun, okay? I bruise easily.

There are about 15 nurses, 3 receptionists and some other support staff. I don’t know if any of the docs are going to participate, but the rest of us are going to be dalmatians and one of us is going to be Cruella DeVille. You know, for 101 Dalmatians? Yeah. I think it will be cute and the kids will love it. Stop laughing. It will be fun.

A 37 old Dutch woman on the couch in sweater and underpants, suffering from fever, cold sore and throathache, bored out of her skull, and bummed the Dutch don’t do Halloween, contemplating moving to the US…

    Fun costume right, LOL

  2. Sounds like fun! Kids always love costumes and dressing up. So who’s going to be Cruella?

I think your costume sounds like a good one. Theme costumes can be really fun!

Sounds like it will be really neat. I think the kids will enjoy it.

We dress up at my work also. The shelter staff really get into it and have a gread time. We haven’t really done a theme before, though. I think I will suggest it for next year. Thanks for the idea!!

I think the kids will love it!! Me? I’ll be in jeans & a t-shirt as always…maybe an orange t-shirt?? exciting times I tell you.

They are allowing us to dress up this year but my assistant already told me people are taking bets on what I am going to be…so it will be a brand new suit, put my hair up and spray it all white and the highest heels I own. When they ask me why I didn’t dress up, my response will be “I am Amanda from the Devil Wears Prada” and then I will get to be a total bitch all day and instead of people thinking how mean I am, they will think what a great costume / character I am.

Dressing up around kidlets can be a total blast. A couple of years ago did the whole gypsy thing with the small tent in the front yard for trick or treaters. One little girl still tells me that her fortune was correct as she did pass her math class…~L~ her mother likes to add that she BARELY passed it. I think this year, I will just open the door and throw the candy at them…~L~ as I am not sure how the doberman is going to react to the screams and costumes. I can see it now….the trick of the night was only allowing her to eat one child !
