Meme Monday #37; Still More Randomness

Stole this a LONG time ago from People in the Sun. I am to list 10 random facts. Here goes:

1. I don’t like liver. Yuck.

2. I love seafood. Especially crab and scallops.

3. I even like imitation crab meat.

4. When I was little, if someone said that the wind chill temperature was____, I thought that they were saying windshield temperature. I wondered why do we care what the temperature of the windshield is.

5. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a nun when I grew up.

6. I also wanted to be an actress.

7. I also wanted to be a singer.

8. Now, when I grow up, I want to be an author.

9. I’m thinking about going to an online college. What are your opinions on them?

10. I am obsessive about stuff. Silly stuff. But, still, I’m messy.

As for 9 & 10, I am right there with you. I have been looking in to Roosevelt University in the Chicago area. Once you contact them, prepare to be deluged with catalogues and phonecalls. They do have some amazing programs, if I could just carve out the time.

For someone who has so many organizational quirks and pet peeves, I am downright amazed at the messes I can make.

  2. Oh my gosh! Okay, you’re probably going to get sick of me saying this, but we are so alike!!

When I read this: “When I was little, if someone said that the wind chill temperature was…” I was like, “Holy crap! Is she going to say she thought it was ‘windshield temperature? I thought I was the only one that thought that!”

And you did! ROFL! I seriously thought I was the only one!

You know how when it’s really cold out and you feel glass on the window or windshield and it’s even colder? I thought that’s what they meant, lol!

And, I’m not even going to admit to how old I was when I found out I was wrong. hehe

  3. Uisce says:

I’m with you on the liver — yuck!!

  4. chilli says:

i don´t like liver too, but even worse is aspic…
    :) 2+3 it´s the same with me.
what are you planning to study online?

  5. metalmom says:

In fifth grade I wanted to be a nun too! Can you imagine that NOW???:))

  6. Ok. So the nun doesn’t quite fit in to the other artist professions, but what the heck?! We knew the flying nun. Why not the artist nun? :D

  7. ONwebCHECK says:

oh, seafood – I like it too. As a young boy I wanted to become a Astronout. And than I wanted to join Captain Kirks Crew…

  8. Fantastagirl says:

I hate liver as well – Mr. Incredible loves the stuff… ewww

  9. Mr. Fabulous says:

    I don’t think it’s too late to become a nun…

  10. Barbara says:

    Windshield temperature, lol.

I think online colleges are a great idea. They are accredited.

  11. Peep says:

    Liver=yuck.

I wanted to be a trashman. They had levers and buttons and they rode standing on the backs of trucks. It seemed like the most fun anyone can do. Maybe when I have my midlife crisis I’ll become a trashman (I think the’re called something else now or they get offended. They’re very sensitive).

Later, I wanted to be a rock star. I’ve changed. More than anything, I think I just wanted someone to ask me my opinions about stuff. Now I have a blog so I don’t need anyone to ask me what’s the best opening song in an album, for example. I can just write the answer on my blog (or on your one: “What’s Going On”).

I want to be an author, too. Personally, I don’t think online writing classes (assuming that’s what you mean) do anything. I’ve never tried them, so obviously I have no idea what I’m talking about. Nothing new there.

  12. Just Dave says:

Online colleges are good but you have to be very disciplined and do the work. It’s easy to procrastinate when you don’t have an actual classroom to go to. Another good thing is you won’t get groped by frat boys in class.

  13. Shelli says:

    Jane–

For someone who has so many organizational quirks and pet peeves, I am downright amazed at the messes I can make.

I can totally relate! It has long been my theory that my messiness is because if I don’t have the time to do it exactly the way that I want it done, I won’t do it at all. I want to be perfect.

  14. Shelli says:

Dawn–ROFLMAO. But did you ever touch your tongue to a window or windshield to see if it would get stuck? Neither did I. :)

  15. Shelli says:

Uisce–Who invented that in the first place? Yuck!

  16. Shelli says:

Chili–I’m not sure. I haven’t really looked into it yet. Thanks for coming by!

  17. Shelli says:

MM–I know! Me too. I am the last person on earth that would have done well with that line of work.

  18. Shelli says:

CS–Nuns often do other things. I’m sure they write books, too. We even have one in our area who does massage therapy. I am not kidding.

  19. Shelli says:

OWC–Even though I am not a Trekky, I think that would have been cool to be in Captain Kirk’s crew!

  20. Shelli says:

Fantastagirl–I even gag at the smell. Yuck!

  21. Shelli says:

Fab–I would have to abandon my children.

  22. Shelli says:

Barbara–When I first started thinking about it, it seemed a little like getting a degree out of a cereal box, but then I started realizing that it’s just the 21st century way to get a degree. Something that the Internet has made possible and we should be able to take advantage of.

  23. Shelli says:

Peep–Not necessarily writing. We’ll see. I am not sure. I was thinking nursing. Or English. Or who knows, something completely useless just so I can say that I have a degree in something.

  24. Shelli says:

JustDave–I am a huge procrastinator. Will you stand over me making sure that I do my work? Wait. Getting groped by frat boys is a bad thing?

  25. Peep says:

Oh, my bad. Honey’s Mom is fifty-something and she started community college a couple of years ago. She loved every second and now she’s starting a regular college. Good luck in everything. I miss the groping.
