It’s my Mom’s birthday today. Happy birthday, Mom. A week from today, she is having an angiogram. I am sure she will be fine, but I hate these things. She has had several of them in the past. She has had at least one bypass surgery for peripheral artery disease (PAD) in the past. She has had 2 heart attacks. She isn’t old, but I worry about her. My Dad wasn’t old, either. I am going to be the driver who takes her to the hospital, sits waiting patiently, worrying while she is having the procedure done (she doesn’t do well with anesthesia) and then brings her home whenever they let her leave.
I have this grand post in my head. I just can’t figure out how to get it onto my blog. It might take a lot of work. And some more drawings. Sound exciting? I know how much you loved the drawing I did mapping out the area around where I work.
Have you ever had something that was so good, so unbelievably amazing and wonderful that it changed the color of your world and made it that much easier to be alive? If you have, did you ever question how you could be worthy enough to have that something and think that surely you wouldn’t have it for very long? I have something like that. I cannot tell you what it is because I am afraid that if I do, it will tempt fate or something and then maybe it will be taken away from me. I cannot ever imagine my life without this something. To lose it would be the greatest loss of my life.
My friend, ANO, is taking part in the Maryland Race For The Cure on October 14th. She is walking with her company’s team and their goal is $5,000 and her personal goal is $200. She is a little less than a quarter of the way there. Please go to her donation page and contribute if you can.
I think that about does it. If I don’t see you here before Monday, have a great weekend!

your Mom will be fine. she has you on her side!
Something wonderful? Something amazing? Is this about your new phone again? LOL
That is what I was going to suggest as well. You have gotten too close to this new phone too soon LOL
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday, Shelli’s Mooommmm. Happy Birthday to you! (me singing way off tune)
Hmm…that’s the way I feel about my grandchildren!
Happy Birthday, Mom! I’ll send good vibes her way for the scan.
Please tell me it isn’t the phone…
Thanks for the pluggage!
Happy Birthday to Mom! I’m sure she’ll be fine!o:-)
Good luck to your Mom, good luck to you in being the caretaker, and good luck to my fellow Baltimorean. I’m also excited about my next post–my blog anniversary video. And speaking of having a great weekend, I’m going to see Stevie Wonder on Saturday.
I read it all Shelli – is it really all about your phone.
I have a feeling this grand post is a little bigger than just a new phone post, or am I dead wrong here?
Anyway, IM new here and I must say; I really like how you divide the text that way. Really helps reading from the screen.
Thanks to all for the good birthday wishes and the forthcoming angiogram. Am sure all will be ok – I appreciate you taking me Shelli – been kind of waiting for an voice mail (now that I have it and know how to use it – lol) – am in Custer S.Dak and just came from Yellowstone National Park – what a trip – especially through those MOUNTAINS…lol Again, thanks all, I really appreciate your concern and good wishes…Carole
Blue–Nope. Not the phone.
Fab–It’s not the phone. It’s you.
:))
TrishK–I feel that way about Isabelle, too, but it isn’t what I was referencing.
Finn–Thank you. No, I love my phone, but it isn’t the thing I was talking about.
ANO–You are so welcome. Any fund raiser that benefits cancer of any kind in any way is worth the linkage.
MM–Thank you.
Peep–Thank you. I will be by today, I promise.
Barbara–It is NOT about the phone. lol. It was a totally sincere expression. lol
StudyGuide–Can I call you SG?
It is much deeper. Thank you for saying that. And thank you for the comment about my blog. You are welcome here anytime.
Carole–Mom–You are welcome. You know how I am. I forget to call. I got my partner to cover me that day, so I will be there for you. You will have to call me with details so I know what I have to do and all that…Do you think that they would let me come in for the procedure? That would be awesome.
I hope you had a great birthday. I will talk to you when you get home.
