100,000 Plus 4

The arrow points to the 100,000 people. The two in the foreground are Emily and Sam trying to avoid getting their picture taken.
We all had a good time. Jason, Emily, Sam and I and 100,000 of our (now) closest friends. It was a feast for all the senses. You can see just about everything, hear everything (at once), smell everything (good and bad) and it was hot and sweaty and people bumping you every 5 seconds (that’s the feeling sense, don’tchya know). I think I even got felt up once or twice. Wait, that was Jason doing that–doesn’t count. We ate all the requisite items, except cotton candy. I was so damn thirsty (and water cost $2.00/bottle) the whole time we were there, I couldn’t even think of putting something so sweet into my mouth. I would need more water.
We are exhausted and stuffed and the old folks are sore from so much walking. We’ll recover over the long weekend. It’s all good.

Sounds like fun! My husband wants to live in Minnesota soooo bad just so he can be near his beloved Vikings.
Did you all eat funnel cake? That would definitely be one of my requisite items!

I would have loved to go with you but I probably wouldn’t have gotten out of the air conditioned car! #:-s

It sounds like you guys had the perfect “Fair” experience!
Maybe I haven’t been reading long enough, but you and Jason seem like you guys are on a “second honeymoon” or something. It’s so awesome to read about the obvious love and affection the two of you share!

I love our state fair – haven’t been for almost 10 years. Have to convince Mr. Incredible to take time off work and go next year. It’s always hot – but so much fun!

Amber–Thanks. We have recently gone through some tough times and things are better than before, so you are very observant.

Tug–Not a huge funnel cake fan, but my son is. What is an Indian Taco?
September 1st, 2007 at 9:25 pm
Indian Tacos are just tacos on fry bread (like funnel cake) instead of in a shell. TOTALLY awesome, TOTALLY filling.

Usually I don’t visit such feasts because I don’t like such crowds! I feel uncomfortable there.
