Peep (BTW, that’s my name for him and no one else can use it
), from People in the Sun, tagged me with this one. I have done it before, so I am not going to tag anyone. If you want to do it, go ahead and do it.

It’s very simple. When this is passed on to you, copy the whole thing, skim the list and put a * star beside those tips that you like. (Check out especially the * starred ones.)
Add the next number (1. 2. 3. 4. 5., etc.) and write your own blogging tip for other bloggers.
Try to make your tip general.
After that, tag 10 other people. Link love some friends!
Just think– if 10 people start this, the 10 people pass it onto another 10 people, you have 100 links already!
Here are the tips:
1. Look, read, and learn. ****

7. Your readers are your treasure.****

8. Blog about what you know & love.*****

9. Don’t use filthy language-buy a dictionary.*

10. Whenever possible, spread some positive thoughts and love. The world needs more of them.*******

11. Write down from your heart or head. Either way asks yourself why you ever get started.***

12. Try to make your template something unique and easy to look. Your template gives the blogger identity as much as the post content.***

13. Take risks creatively with your writing. You’d be surprised how little it takes to bring out the poet or novelist in you.****

14. Find your own voice! Your writing should reflect your unique personality. Don’t ever try to be something you’re really not just because you think you have to in order to get people to read your blog.***

15. When you’re trying to think of a new great post, or deep in thought on how to make it better, just remember – trying is crap. Trying to think is worthless. Thinking is the greatest single hindrance to a writer. Relax, don’t try to think. Let go of your thought and ego. Only then is real thought able to naturally flow on it’s own, without being consciously driven. Just a little something not to think about:)**

16. If you like a blog, follow the links. You’re most likely to find your next favorite blog waiting for you on another blog’s sidebar.**

17. If you are a lurker, de-lurk every now and then. A writer likes to know that there are people reading.

Have at it if you like. It’s a good way to get some links to your blog. I’ll sweeten the deal. If you do it, I will send you a copy with all the HTML for the links in it already so all you have to do is put an asterisk by the ones you like and then add your own to the bottom. Cause I’m cool and helpful like that.
Will you please say a little prayer for the people in southern Minnesota? Six people were killed in flash flooding this past weekend and 4 people are still missing. It is a very big mess down there. Homes have been lost, cars have been lost and of course those things can’t compare to the lives that were lost. Please just keep them in your thoughts and prayers today.
Finally, check out Shelli Says today. You will find out what pisses me off.

I like to blog naked. That should be a tip.
You tagged me with this before, and I never got around to it. I’ll get to it next week — promise!
I love the look and feel of your blog. Keep up the good work!
Ditto on de-lurking. My favorite is “be the blog”.
Never seen this “list” floating around…pretty cool way to get to other sites.
Hope all is well with you Shelli!!
Fab–Good one! You should do this meme!
Finn–Sounds good enough!
SFG–Thank you. I hope you come by again!
Kat–That one kinda made me laugh!
Slick–And links back to your blog add up in a hurry. So if you are a link whore like me, then you know, it all helps!
Blog naked… That’s a very good tip, but unfortunately it doesn’t go well with my usual blogging habit (blog while driving).
Thanks for doing it. It was nice to see that after a week in the middle of nowhere (suburban Boston). And of course I’m very happy I de-lurked here.
Peep–No, you shouldn’t ever blog while driving. Especially if you are naked. I am sorry you are in the middle of nowhere. Why are you there?
I’m back now. A week in Boston for a family reunion. And I consider anything North of New York City to be uncharted territory.
