What is it? Her 40th birthday celebration!
When will it be? July 22-28
What to bring? Yourself and your sense of humor, oh, and a gift. 
Some of you have figured it out, but for those of you who haven’t, I am turning 40 in 35 days. Jason asked me if I were to have a party, who would I want to invite. The first people that I thought of were my blogging friends and family. I am not kidding. Of course I have wonderful family members, friends and co-workers that I would like to come, but I would also really want to see all of you. Fab, Finn, Shortie, Slick, Lynda, Dutchy, Blogarita, Libragirl, Blue, etc., etc., etc.. I could go on and on.
I know that it isn’t really possible. It would rock, though, wouldn’t it?
Instead, I am going to have a virtual party. Sound like fun? I am telling you about it now because I think that this might take me awhile to put together. Here’s how it will work. I would like all of you to give me a present. Not a real present, a virtual present! I want you to write just a short paragraph about what you would give me and why. If you want, you could talk about how you found me or how we met (fictional or real) and any other little thing that you want to add. My birthday week, starting July 22 and going through the 28th, I am going to post these gifts, along with linkage for each of you that participate, of course. This will make me so happy! And it might even be fun for all of you. 
If you want to participate, shellimil at gmail dot com with your submission before July 20th. Put “Birthday Gift” in the subject line, if you would, so I can keep them organized.

I just wandered in and I have to say the virtual party idea is a fun and new idea. I never heard of it, but it sounds like it will be a lot of fun for those involved. Hopefully you can pull it off.

Just as well it’s not a real party. I usually get a 5K appearance fee.

Wow! Now there’s a novel idea. A virtual birthday party week in cyberspace. The mind wanders … can we celebrate for a whole week, or will we by virtually exhausted?!? Can you return virtual gifts if you don’t like them?:o

This is a new way to celebrate birthday. Best of luck for turning 40. I think more people are brave enough to cherish their 40′s and 50′s and 60′s. Way to go.
