Remember right before Christmas I won this in a contest? Remember that then I had a contest to name it and Melissa won with the name Aria? I am going to admit to you that I haven’t finished her gift yet. Shut up. I have kids and a job. I know it’s taking me far too long, but I hope she will think it is worth it when she gets it. I just didn’t realize how much time it would actually take. No need to chastise me, I have guilt. I’m Catholic, I always have guilt.
I bring this all up because last week, I filled the damn thing. 2 GB! Used up! Almost 500 songs and I have many more that I could load. It’s a good thing that I have a BIG birthday coming up, right Jason?! I have asked him for a new iPod. This time not a Nano. I want a 30 or 80 GB. Probably 30 will be plenty. (Fab, I don’t think that they make a 40 GB anymore. I couldn’t find one anyway.)
I am not having another contest. Not just because I haven’t finished the first contest prize yet, but because I love the name of my current one, so I am going to just use some variation of that. I know, it’s not very original, but that’s okay. It’s my iPod.
(Addendum: As I was reading this to Jason, when I said, “It’s my iPod”, he quickly said, “Not yet, it’s not!” Then he chuckled. I’m so spoiled, I hate me!)
Check out my invitation below, if you haven’t already.

are ipods really that nice to have? I mean I listen to maybe, at most fifty different songs. would I use soemthing liek that? Cus, IM so waffeling on whether i want one or not..
advise me oh great one!
uhm ignore the typos oh great one.
Birthday? What birthday?
I love my i-pod that you named. She’s not full yet. Out of the 60gigs – I filled like 40 and that is over 2500 songs, 15 videos, a few podcast movie trailers, 5 tv shows, 19 photos, my date book and my address book.
And my brother is going to give me the software so I can use it for voice memos.
I-pods – they aren’t just for music anymore.
Make sure you take pictures of the new one
iWant aNew iPOD tOO! but 1 GB will do. see, I’m not as spoiled as you are! =)
kisses
No you don’t.
But, what if he is just trying to throw you off….
I have a 4-gig Nano. It’ll hold about 1,000 songs. I’m not halfway there yet.
What the heck have you got on there?
From a selfish point of view – I love big birthdays – I got a new camera for my 50 this year.
Expect an incoming tag for a meme!
I just got an 80GB iPod for Christmas last year and I’m really happy with it. Only thing is, it’s heavier. BUT we women have handbags, right?? I love my iPod… and you’ll love your new one
And that’s supposed to be a total coincidence… that the day after the birthday invite you just “happen” to tell us you “need a new I-Pod”… Yeah, uhm… ok… Do you think we all just fell of the back of a turnip truck, did ya?
I hope you get your wish! I went straight to the big iPod when I bought mine. I already had over 1K songs on my PC.
Blue–I think you would. I listen to mine mostly at the gym and in the car. I have an adapter that makes it play through my car stereo system. You can also put pictures on them and they have lots of other uses, too. Datebook, address book, video player (only on the regular iPod, not the Nano, mini or shuffle), get podcasts (like Fab’s), etc.
Blue–Consider it done, Grasshopper.
Fab–Very funny!
Libragirl–I can’t wait for mine! I am so excited! Um, I mean, IF I get one.
MT–Nah. 1GB won’t be enough once you get going. You can have 2 or 4 for just a little more, you might as well spend the extra.
Chemik–Um, I think I should know you before we kiss.
Thanks for stopping by.
Lynda–He’s not. I know my husband.
lol
Finn–A lot of songs. lol I am a Garth Brooks FREAK! I have two different disk collections of his that he put out plus his Double Live disks. That accounts for about 132 songs. I have a lot of various others. Want a play list? I would send you disks of any that you want. It’s not all Country, either. I have Eric Clapton, Josh Groban, Evanescence, Journey, Pat Benatar, Snow Patrol, etc. Let me know. I would do it for you.
Ms. Demmie–I will look for it!
CS–How much heavier? I use mine for working out a lot and I clip it to my waistband (I can’t stand anything strapped around my arm while working out–it gives me the willies) so I don’t want it to be too heavy.
Dutchy–LOL. I totally didn’t mean it that way. Sometimes, ideas just come to you in strange ways. Besides, I truly think my hubby is getting me one.
ANO–WOW! At first I thought you meant 1KB and I was thinking, “Huh?” Then I realized you meant 1000 songs. LOL Call me dork!
