The Meme That Never Dies

(More birthday goodness– I received another gift yesterday, coincidentally from Mr. Fabulous. Thanks, Fab! I love you, my brother!

Also, the interview went well. I have a second interview scheduled for next Tuesday. I should tell you that I am interviewing at the place that I was a pediatric nurse for 13 years. Everyone was happy to see me and if my former co-workers have any say in the matter, I will be starting next Tuesday. The second interview is for testing me on the skills part of nursing. I think I will be fine. They gave me a benefit information package, so I think that it is looking good so far. Thanks for all your well wishes. You guys are the best.)

And now, for the meme that never dies:

I was tagged by Mr. Fabulous, at Pointless Drivel, to do this meme and now it just may die here because I DO NOT TAG! However, if you want to do it, be my guest and take it for yourself. The first five people who volunteer, will get linked in the appropriate spot below. I am going to steal his line by saying, “I actually did this one quite a while ago, but I can’t remember what my answers were. So I thought I would do it again, and then later on I’ll look back and see how many of them matched.” Nah, I am too lazy to search for my previous post. If you want to, be my guest. Let me know what you find out.

In the spirit of the old chain letter traditions, follow these instructions:

INSTRUCTIONS: Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place. Then add your blog to the bottom slot, like so.

1) In Our House
2) Rose DesRochers
3) So a Blonde Walks Into a Blog
4) Pointless Drivel
5) Shelli’s Sentiments.

Next select five people to tag:
1) – a metamorphoself
2) Penny For Your Thoughts
3) Volunteer #3
4.67532) SpeckledPup She asked to be this number and I obliged, even though I think she is a #1!
5) Volunteer #5

What were you doing 10 years ago? I was working in pediatrics at Allina clinic in Champlin, MN. I think that I was going to college in the evenings. Or planning to start or something like that. I was married with 3 kids, the youngest was 1 1/2 years old.

What were you doing 1 year ago?
Blogging, although I was not a REAL blogger because my posts were few and far between and I was also providing in home family child care.

Five snacks you enjoy: Popcorn, chocolate, ice cream, tortilla chips and salsa, cookies.

Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:
Almost anything Garth Brooks sings, including the live versions of Thunder Rolls and Friends In Low Places. I think that more than covers this question.

Five things you would do if you were a millionaire: Buy a Jaguar, blog and write full time, help friends and family, travel extensively, buy a new house.

Five bad habits: Eating junk food, not exercising enough, losing my temper, swearing too much, procrastinating.

Five things you like doing: Reading, blogging, cross stitching, sculpting, writing.

Five things you would never wear again: Gauchos, granny underwear, a nursing bra, maternity clothes, sweat pants (except when I am working out).

Five favorite toys: My laptop, my Pocket PC, Lucky–my cell phone, my camera, Dance Dance Revolution for PS2. There were other things that came to mind…but no, I am not talking about them here! ;)

I did this one a while ago:-)

You know, when you are a millionaire, travelling more and blogging full time will proably mutually exclude each other;-)

  2. Mr. Fabulous Says:

Why does everyone list cursing as a bad habit? I enjoy cursing. Curse curse curse curse curse.

I kept it clean because I know that yours is a family blog, sis.

I am glad you liked the gift, sis. I know you can’t say what it is, because your blog is G-rated. I tried to be practical because, after all, once you strap it on, it’s something Jason can enjoy too :)

  3. libragirl Says:

You can get a Jag station wagon (nice ride, I swear) for about 30k. And it’s a nice ride…really. My parents have one. (Ok, they have an X type but I like the wagon better)

Cursing is not a bad habit. It better not be, since I have a hard time not cursing.
Cracking knuckles is a bad habit and feels really good when you wake up and are stretching and they crack (sorry, tmi)

  4. speckledpup Says:

    I’ll play tomorrow.
Put me down as volunteer #4.67532
    (yeah I’m a little different)
    Not your average 4.

  5. Megan Says:

I’ll keep the good thoughts coming about the job.

So what did Fab get you?

  6. Frances Says:

    Nice meme.
I love my laptop and cell phone too.
And I am working on a way to blog full time.
    Take care,
    Frances

  7. Courtney Says:

I have been a bad blogger lately, and I completely missed your birthday. Happy belated birthday!!!

  8. Catch Says:

Good luck with the job Shell…IM sure you will get it!!! What did Fab send you???? sounds like a strap on…..lmao

  9. DutchBitch Says:

Why never wear your nursing bra again? It’s principle use can come in handy again… LOL

Ugh… Is there ANY woman at all that would EVER consider wearing it again unless they are nursing again… That and granny underwear is about the only thing we can still wear while being pregnant and we do not want to be associated with E-V-E-R again in our whole life…

  10. Dave Says:

Thanks for the visit and the comment(s). Feel free to pass that bit of weirdness on. That’s what the net is best at… well, that and porn spam

  11. Lynda Says:

Now I am curious as to what Fab got you too! Great list, but I think I will pass on self tagging, because I barely have time to read blogs, let alone write in my own.

Regarding the job you interviewed for, it’s the best way to see what people really think about you. You said you worked there for a long period so it’s only normal to get the job, but if the staff is against it, you’re not gonna get it. You seem to be a very nice person so I wish you all the best!

  14. bedroom furniture Says:

I wish I had a list. But if I do and nothing on that list comes true, the disappointment is greater.

  15. virtual office Says:

I would really want a kid this year. Me and my wife are trying for two years now and nothing. That’s my wish list!

  16. Virtual Office Says:

hehe very interesting list you have there.
    it’s 3.55am here in Sydney, Australia and after reading that list you’ve made me;

    a) hungry
    b) hungry again
    c) not hungry by mentioning granny undies :)
