HELP!

After weeks, even months, of weight loss, with a total of almost 35 pounds lost, I have hit the dreaded plateau. Actually, after the long weekend in Florida and some other dalliances since then, I have actually gained. (gasp!) Only a few pounds, but still.

What I am saying, I guess, is that I need your help, my friends. I need some major ass-kicking to keep me on track. Make me go to the gym. Remind me to drink copious amounts of water. That is my downfall I know. I am really not good at drinking my water. And of course, eating. Encourage me to eat regularly and healthily. Remind me how I got to where I was by doing all those things. You guys helped me before by encouraging me, I need you again.

I was going to post pictures of what I never want to look like again and what I hope to look like when I am done losing weight, but we got a new computer with a new printer/scanner/copier and I haven’t figured out how to work it yet. Maybe later, maybe tomorrow. We’ll see.

Have a good Saturday.

I’m just beginning again, too. I’d be happy to lend my support – you know where to find me. ;)

  2. Megan says:

I’ll kick your ass if you kick mine. I’m completely disgusted with myself. You’ll see when you read my posts for this week.

    Happy Weekend, honey.

You have my full support. That is a wonderful loss of weight! Please don’t backslide now that you have come so far. I am with you on having to do things right. I have made it 6 days on the treadmill and have reached my 18 min mile! Yeah! Now I need to focus on adding more time and distance. You too can do this. Hit that gym girl, drink that water and think low-fat! :D

  4. took me weeks when we got a new scanner to figure it out. I finally read the directions and got even more confused.

We all have little set backs. You’ll do fine, just pick up the glass of water and start drinking. Go for a long walk, relax……..you can do it!

Hey, have you been out to P2G lately? There are a number of us who are in your same shoes who are rededicating ourselves after a plateau or a gain. (I’m in the latter group, though thankfully it’s only be a couple of pounds.)

Come visit and start posting again. I’m trying to once a week again just to keep myself in check and also get support from others in my boat.

YOU CAN DO IT! You’ve lost an incredible amount of weight–I only got to 12 lbs before my plateau. Just refocus and I know you’ll stick with it!

WOW!!! I am jealous! I have officially lost 21 pounds myself – must be something about this Minnesota water…hehe

I think I am reaching the plateau as well – its coming off slower and slower…but I am trying not to get discouraged too.

So, we girls should stick together and kick each other bootays when needed. Be proud of what you have done so far….

Hey Mad Dog did you forget that Olympic Beach Volley Ball dream you were telling me about. The one that you wear that teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini. You know the drill you know what to do.

You are still my hero…..show me the way to the gym! Grrrrr!

  12. Lynda says:

Think of where you were and think of where you are now. You don’t want to go back to where you were. Take it from someone who is back to where they were.

As for your plateau, mix it up a bit. Try eating fewer calories, or try eating just a little more. Try some new exercises. Push yourself to go an extra 10 minutes. Drink a cup or two more water than you normally do.

Mostly, remember everyone has a plateau. I maintained my plateau until my sister got sick. Think about where you want to be, and reach for your goals. You can do it!

  13. cyberoutlaw says:

It’s all a matter of changing the way you eat, doing the right kind of exercises regularly, and sticking with it. The losses are cumulative, so even a pound or two every few weeks is good. Just try not to regress back to your old habits and you should be fine. Then again, one of the people I work with claims she has the answer. She said that when she gains weight she just gets bigger clothes. She says she’s happy with herself and doesn’t really care.

  14. Jen says:

Start doing volunteer work at your local shelter- walking the dogs. The shelter people love it, the dogs love it and you and the dogs both benefit from it! It is such a contribution, and it really helps to calm and socialize the dogs, which makes them more appealing to prospective families.

You could go every day, or every other day, and walk a dog or two…30 minutes a day of such extra activity should help!
