Freedom. That is what this day is about. Freedom that we enjoy because of heroes who have given their lives so that we can live our lives in the manner that we choose and we have no fear of persecution. On September 11 of this year, as we Mark the fifth anniversary of the attack on the United States, I will be honoring such a hero on my blog. My hero is Commander William H. Donovan. He was a United States Naval Commander who was murdered at the Pentagon.

As you celebrate on this day, please remember those such as Cmdr. William H. Donovan who risked and/or gave their lives so that we could enjoy and celebrate our freedom today.
Please have a blessed and safe holiday.
If you want to honor a victim of 9/11 by participating in the project 2,996, and haven’t already done so, you can find information on how to sign up by clicking on the link above, clicking on the link in my sidebar or by going here. Thank you.

A very nice sentiment indeed, sis. Thank you.
I echo Mr Fab, a very nice sentiment indeed! Have a wonderful 4th.
Have a wonderful day. God bless our troops.
What a great idea! And, a wonderful tribute. Have a great 4th!
I have an MIA bracelet from the Vietnam War of Maxim C. Parker. I always dreamed I would meet him one day, until I learned of his death.
The other night, I was half asleep, and I remember saying to Dan, “Where is my MIA bracelet? I think I saw it on the floor.” A cat probably knocked it off the nightstand, but Dan picked it up and said, “It is right here.”
(The weird part is that I don’t go to Dan’s side of the bed very often, which is where it was on the floor.
